Do You Want A Wal-Mart Mastercard?

Everytime l go to Wal-mart l get this questioned asked of me (and l go to Wal-Mart A LOT). Do l want to sign up for a Wal-Mart credit card.  The answer is, was, and always will be

NO, NO, NO!!!!

I realize the cashier is only doing their job.  And if l was their manager, l would be happy that they were doing their  job.  As a customer, however, l freakin' hate it.

I have had this one cashier twice now, when she asks me l say no, and that l would like to pay with debit, she then harasses me by saying, why pay debit when you can pay by credit card.  Are you freakin' kidding me?  I don't go into the long explanation of how having too much credit got people into trouble, or why would l incur the cost of "yearly membership dues" when l have the cash to pay for it.

I'm sure the good people of Wal-Mart have managed to ask every customer of theirs 10 times over if they want to sign up for a card.  And l'm sure if they were interested they would have done it by now.  So can you please stop asking us, your customers.

Also, no, l don't want to donate to this cause or that cause.....yes it is only a dollar, but why should the big stores get my money to donate and get the tax write off.  All l want to do is buy my shit and go. Please!

  1. You need a t-shirt or button "No, I don't want a frekin' Wal-Mart Master Card!"

Here we always choose "credit" for our debit cards because if we choose debit it charges us a fee but credit charges the store. That and I go through the self-checkout so no one bothers me.

What I hate about our Wal-Marts though is that the ones here have no baskets you can carry around. I hear in other cities they do but in Cincinnati they don't because they say they get stolen. Hmmmm... none of the other stores have that problem. Anyway, because of that and because they keep closing Wal-Marts and moving them to inconvenient places I don't shop there much right now.

Maybe when I'm living in their lot that will change :)

    1. Maria; We live on our debit cards up here. There are no fees by the companies for us to use them. It's just like cash, but your wallet doesn't have to be full of bills!

I like the t-shirt idea. LOL

  2. You know they use to do that to me in the post office(stamps, envelopes or other services). I got to the point where as soon as I got on line I would say no. LOL They laughed too. They never asked me again. I like the idea above with t-shirt. It couldn't hurt to try.

  3. Hi Tammy,

As proof of what I said earlier about Adsense, notice what ads are showing up on your post, based on your keywords? These credit card ads will pay you a higher per-click fee than most of the other ads. But I realize you can't keep talking about high-paying subjects in every post. Just do what you enjoy. You're on the right track. By the way, I took Adsense off my sites because of their rules and have gone to Skimlinks(dotcom) which pays out at a MUCH lower threshold and you can promote products from over 17,000 different vendors, automatically, with text links within your posts. I've gotten three times more checks from them than I ever did with Adsense! Try it, you'll like it!
